Special Invitation
Canadian Conference on ITP : Positioning of New Therapies
September 17, 2011
Dear Colleague,
On behalf of our distinguished faculty, we would like to invite you to attend the 2nd Canadian Conference on ITP in Toronto, which will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011. This is to follow on the success of the first conference on immune thrombocytopenic purpura in Vancouver in 2009.
Treatment algorithms for ITP have not changed for the last decade, yet recent developments in treatment have brokered a paradigm shift in the management and understanding of this disease. This conference will showcase significant advancements in our understanding of the pathophysiology. We will provide a practical approach to the assessment of ITP in adults. The focus will be on the thrombopoietin receptor agonists with respect to efficacy and safety. Case presentations will highlight current treatment standards and feature discussions of where the new therapies could be positioned. There will be opportunity for audience participation via keypad polling devices and with the entire faculty featured during the panel discussion.
The Planning Committee has been successful at securing leaders in the field of ITP to provide keynote lectures. The visiting faculty include:
Dr. John Kelton (Hamilton,ON)
Dr. David Kuter (Boston, MA)
Dr. James Bussel(New York, NY)
Dr. Mark Crowther (Hamilton, ON)
We hope that you will be able to join us in what we anticipate to be a stimulating and educational program.
Yours truly,
ITP Planning Committee
